Budapest 2023: Tobi Amusan Finishes In Six Position, Lose Her Title To Jamaica's Danielle Williams - Oladosu D 

Former world 100m hurdles champion Tobi Amusan falls short at World Athletics Championship in Budapest, Hungary. 


Amusan returned to the tracks on Thursday (Today) with a bang and was on course to successfully defending her title after easing into the final of the event on Wednesday, but finished in six position in a time of 12.62 second. 

Jamaica's Danielle Williams is the new world women's 100m hurdles champion with a season's best 12.43 seconds, while Jasmine Camacho-Quin won silver in 12.44 seconds and Keni Harrison clinched bronze in 12.47 seconds. 

Amusan last race before the World Championship was at the Silesa Diamond League in Poland, where she ran her season's best 12.34 seconds to win the race. 

Recalled that Tobi Amusan was banned by Athletics Integrity Units for missing three anti doping test with all hope was lost that she won't be able to compete at the event, but was later cleared at the eve of the championship. 

Her next target will be at the 2024 Olympic games in Paris, France. 

The ongoing championship in Budapest, Hungary ends on Sunday, August 27.
